If you missed it last week, I’m sharing a 3 part series on my “Somewhere in Between” as it relates to my career change journey. Here’s Part 1 if you didn’t catch it!

Part 2: the prevalence of career change dreamers

While blogging during my own self-discovery career change journey and speaking to many of you, I realized there are so many amazing women who are burned out or unfulfilled in their careers. I was not the only one with this feeling.

The harsh reality

90,000

number of hours the average American spends at work in their lifetime.

aka

10+ YEARS

Spending those 10+ years coasting or merely surviving is simply reckless.

The fact that so many of us are “surviving” our jobs is sad. We 👏🏽 are 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 stranded 👏🏽 on 👏🏽 a 👏🏽 deserted 👏🏽 island 👏🏽 – we don’t need to be surviving our lives. We deserve better.

I’ve heard from many of you that the idea of changing careers or taking a side hustle full-time would be a dream, but it seems near impossible.

I knew there was a need to debunk that and I started seeking out women who had made the change:

Moms who made a change while taking care of children

Women who changed industries and started their own businesses

– Single moms who took a side hustle full time

– Executives who took a pay-cut to pursue their passion, eventually making great money

The list went on and on.

They all had the same conclusion – make the change.

– Don’t give into the fears.

– Do what makes you happy.

– Start now.

– If you do something you care about, things will work out and you’ll be the happiest ever.

I listened to their advice.

Stay tuned for part 3 and what I discovered – it’s pretty awesome.
